I’m a freelance writer specializing in the outdoors and travel. I also cover health and fitness, organic and vegetarian dining, wine and the environment.  I’ve written for Washingtonian Magazine, Mobil Travel Guide, The Washington Post, USA Weekend Magazine, Virginia Living Magazine, Richmond Magazine, Chesapeake Life Magazine, Caribbean Travel and Life, Hooked on the Outdoors, Recreation News and a variety of outdoor, travel and recreation publications.

I’m an active hang glider pilot, paraglider pilot, SCUBA diver, cavern diver, climber, equestrian, polo player, skier, skater, hiker, cyclist, sailor, paddler and dabbler in nearly every outdoor activity from skydiving to bull riding.  As a participant in so many different outdoor sports, I know how to capture the full depth and the true thrill of these activities.  In addition, I have over twenty years of experience in scientific research and technical writing as a mechanical engineer.   I can therefore insure technical precision.  My biggest compliment is always “it’s nice to read something accurate in the newspaper”.   So if you’re looking for a writer who will take the bull by the horns, dive the deepest ocean, climb the highest mountain, soar above the clouds, and still get the facts straight, please drop me a line.
